Evacuation Directive

For Immediate Release

Evacuation Directive

An evacuation directive has been issued for the Haystack subdivision west to the Elliot Highway.

Haystack residents are asked that when they leave, they put a note in an obvious place saying they have left. That way, firefighters will not spend precious time looking for people who are already gone.

An American Red Cross shelter for evacuees will be established at Randy Smith Middle School off Danby Road in Fairbanks, the Red Cross number is 907-451-8267

Arrangements can be made for evacuated animals. For more information, contact Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Control at 459-1451.

If you have specific questions, please call the Joint Information Center at 907-356-5511. More information will be shared with the media as soon as it becomes available.

To address questions received recently, there is NO evacuation alert for Chena Hot Springs Road.
