Alaska Native Corporation Forest Landowners

Alaska native corporations established pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) are encouraged to seek assistance from the Forest Stewardship Program. The usual approach for Native Corporation assistance is through a grant. A professional natural resource advisory can then be retained as a consultant or employed by the corporation. Grant expectations include a general inventory of forest resources, land designations using mapping, and a ten-year plan for land designations. Native Corporations interested in a grant should contact the program coordinator, 907-761-6309.
