Alaska's Constitution requires that state forests be maintained on the sustained yield principle (Article VIII, Section 4). The Alaska Forest Resources and Practices Act also requires sustained yield management and reforestation, and the Alaska Forest Resources and Practices Regulations set then reforestation by region in 11 AAC 95.375-.390.
In 2008, the Division of Forestry & Fire Protection updated its Reforestation Handbook.The handbook defines reforestation terms, describes stocking survey methods, and provides sample forms for stocking surveys."
