Basic Wildland Firefighter Training

The Division of Forestry and Fire Protection offers Basic Wildland Firefighter Trainings (Red Card Classes) every spring across the state, as well as virtual instructor-led classes in February of each year. Completing one of these courses will make you a qualified FFT2 (Firefighter Type 2).

Fairbanks Forestry

Dates: May 18-22, 2026

Registration will open March 15.
