Private Landowner Assistance
The Forest Stewardship Program is a cooperative federal and state service that is available to assist Alaskan landowners with 7 or more forested acres, as well as Alaska Native Corporations, in managing their land. Our regional Stewardship foresters develop customized Forest Stewardship Plans based on landowner goals, which include on-site visits and expert guidance. These plans are provided at no cost and with no obligation, covering a range of topics, including:
- Wildfire risk mitigation
- Forest inventories
- Assessing forest health
- Wildlife habitat improvement
- Tree planting and care
- Information on financial assistance opportunities
- Other landowner goals
