The Western Bark Beetle Initiative (WBBI) is a cost-share program designed to assist non-federal landowners statewide with bark beetle prevention, suppression, or restoration efforts. Please direct any questions about this funding to wbbi@alaska.gov or (907) 269-8460.
Individual Private Landowner (5-499 Acres Owned)
This cost-share program is directed towards small acreage landowners (5-499 acres owned). If you own more than 500 acres, please see the large non-federal landowner cost-share program.
This funding cannot be used exclusively for the removal of hazard trees.
Small acreage WBBI applications are not currently being accepted
All available and anticipated funding has been obligated or expired. We appreciate the interest this program has generated and hope to secure more funding in the future.
