2026 Seedling Giveaway Underway

The Alaska Community Forestry Program (CFP) has received a grant from the USDA Forest Service to provide tree seedlings for reforestation projects in Alaska. CFP will provide seedlings free of charge to the following organizations:

  • Public agencies
  • Municipalities
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Soil & water conservation districts
  • Park foundations
  • Volunteer groups and similar organizations

Projects on non-federal public lands are eligible. Projects in areas affected by the spruce beetle outbreak in Southcentral Alaska will receive priority, including the Municipality of Anchorage, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, the Kenai Peninsula Borough, and the Denali Borough.

Approximately 6,000 white spruce (Picea glauca) seedlings are available this year. Seedlings are one year old, approximately 6”-8” in height, and grown from Alaskan seed stock. The minimum order size is 360 seedlings.
